Vintage Franciscan "Apple Pattern Earthenware Gravy Boat with Attached Underplate. Made in the USA. They were introduced in 1940, Franciscan Apple is a beautiful earthenware pattern featuring hand-painted designs that reflect the beauty of California's apple orchards. Apple looks great year-round, and pieces from this pattern make impressive gifts. Apple earthenware was proving so popular, it was continued to be made by the Wedge wood group after closing the Franciscan production facility in Los Angeles in 1984. English Franciscan Apple will be back stamped "Made in England". The Gravy Boat underplate measures approximately 8" and the gravy boat from spout to handle is 8.5" in length and 4" in width. The gravy boat is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or signs of use.
